Background to Project The ecompare price comparison website went live in early 2009. At present the foundation of the website has been established. Upon this foundation we intend to continue adding new functionality and further enhance and refine all services offered. This particular piece of work will include the introduction of some new functionality to the existing site and the intention is to establish an ongoing relationship as further development work will be required. Optional Flash or Javascript Scope of Project The scope of this project is to build a comparison solution for two energy products electricity and gas. These products require functionality that enables different retailer s product offerings of these products to be compared not only on price but also other factors such as service and eco ratings. As well as electricity and gas being compared individually a combined electricity and gas offer is to be able to be compared using this solution. This solution is to be referred to as the energy price comparison engine The analysis and design phases of this solution have already been completed with detailed data capture forms designed and energy calculation and comparison functionality defined in readiness for a developer to build. There are three core deliverables of this engine. They share a lot of characteristics but will have some differences. These deliverables must satisfy all the requirements to be provided. These deliverables can be defined as follows 1. An end to end energy price comparison engine to be embedded in w.ecompare.com.au for Australia. 2. An end to end energy price comparison engine to be embedded in w.switchme.co.nz for New Zealand. 3. A white label end to end energy price comparison engine that can be embedded within 3rd party websites. On the successful completion of this project we will be looking to offer further work as we are in the early stages of building a comprehensive comparison with continued improvements and exciting functionality.
